Bar Magazine

Bar Magazine provides breaking news, venue profiles, drinks reports, expert advice and other content from the bar industry. They were looking to replace their website, which was dated and fell short of inspiring confidence and corporate credibility with their target audience groups.

The Brief

The challenge was to design a fresh and dynamic look for an outdated website, very heavy on the content side. The site features a great deal of news, editorial articles and advertisement slots, so I needed to find a way to bring the content  alive and give it a spark.

What did I do?

Using heatmaps I observed the user’s activity and worked alongside the client to establish which sections could be removed. Focusing more on images than text, I evolved a text-driven website into a visually orientated experience.

The Result

Working alongside the client, I established which sections should take precedence and which were no longer engaging the user and therefore could be removed.

Thanks to these vast improvements more
advertisement options were introduced into the layout, therefore increasing revenue!

What resulted is a beautiful website with a smooth user journey and content that is eye -catching, improving the overall image of the brand.
